The Gallery
Galería Guillermo de Osma opened in Madrid in 1991 with an exhibition of Joaquín Torres-García (1874-1949) and Rafael Barradas (1890-1929). The gallery is specialized in the historic avant-garde movements in Europe and Latin America, as well as in art from the second half of the 20th century, both abstraction (informalism, geometric art and minimalism) and the return to figuration in the ’60-80s. We also work with landmark artists from the past decades such as Chillida, Richard Serra, Tàpies or Christo, having shown their work on several occasions.
Since it opened, the gallery has organised more than 125 exhibitions, always accompanied by the publication of a catalogue with essays from art historians, critics, artists or writers.
The gallery carries out a continuous task of academic research, and has contributed to the preparation of several catalogues raisonnés, in particular the catalogue raisonné of oil paintings of Maruja Mallo published in 2021. We frequently collaborate with museums and foundations and have curated several institutional exhibitions (including, among others, shows of Óscar Domínguez, Victor Brauner and Torres-García).
We have participated in some of the most important art fair, like FIAC Paris, ARCO Madrid or Art Basel Miami.
